Cycling has always been a huge part of my life. At a young age I discovered the many benefits of having a bike and the ability to ride. For most of my life cycling wasn't sport it was simply transportation, a fun time with friends and most importantly a taste of independence. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized just how much of an impact bikes had on my development. Having been fortunate to have this opportunity and knowing that this is not available for all. It made perfect sense to join this organization. Never once did I dream that someday I would be president of such an organization but it feels so right to steer what is my passion toward helping others experience all that cycling can be.

As a mom of a rider, I am continually impressed with the BMX, and larger biking community. BMX as an individual sport has given my child goals to set and confidence to grow. But, the team atmosphere that it breeds when riders who are faster wait at the end to fist bump everyone in their ‘moto’, or the cheers for all the kids you know on the track to succeed has been inspiring.

We have been fortunate to grow in this sport, to continue to give back to our track and to learn enough to help at other tracks. This foundation is such an important part of our journey. Through it, I hope to provide increased access to the sport of BMX, and cycling of all kinds, as well as to encourage my own children to give back to their passions.

I will forever remember the heavy, red bicycle that was my first two wheeler. I grew up enjoying riding around my neighborhood but it wasn't until my oldest son was two years old kicking around on his balance bike at a local bike park that I got my first glimpse into the power of biking, the bike community, and the opportunities in cycling that exist.

Now with three boys who often treat their bike as an extension of their body, I am so pleased to be part of an organization that aims to help support kids in cycling and spread cycling opportunities to others. From the BMX track to the mountain bike trails, from the rides to school in the morning to the rides around vacation sites, it is my hope that we can support youth bicyclists in their journey towards greater balance.

Marley

Welcome to The Trutina Foundation, and THANKS for visiting our page today!

My name is Marley Daniels, currently from Danville Pennsylvania.

I grew up in Brownville New York, and graduated from General Brown, Go Lions!

My fondest memories of riding, was my yellow banana seat bike, delivering newspapers at the age of thirteen.

That is where my love for bike riding started!

I currently enjoy watching my niece and nephews compete on their BMX bikes.

If only I lived closer, I could enjoy every race.

Hard work, dedication and perseverance is what the sport represents to me.

I am honored to be part of this wonderful organization . Ride safe, and have fun!!

Sean

I am a fiery and passionate bicycle rider and an extremely timid BMX rider. I am a loving father of three kids, one of our favorite activities is to go on family bike rides. My eldest son is now expressing interest in BMX. I am a firm believer in finding the right bike and equipment for each child so they can safely ride.

I am a previous Division I Varsity Fencer for Boston College. The mixture of individual and team sports shared between fencing and biking is a marvelous thing. I hope to bring the same sportsmanship, passion and drive to the cycling community I brought to the fencing community.

Professionally, I am a lab supervisor at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. I combine my science and business education on a daily basis to ensure the health of the hospital’s patients.

I hope to bring my athletic, medical, and business backgrounds to the Trutina foundation in order to help us continue our balanced mission of safety, sport, and community!
